How to apply for Scholarship in India?

The application procedure for most of the scholarship scheme is online now. For all the national level scholarships, students have to apply through the National Scholarship Portal. Apart from this, there might be separate websites for some of the scholarships. Application forms for national level scholarships like NMMS can be filled through the official portals of the concerned authorities like SCERTs of the states.

For state level scholarships, students can apply either online or offline. Application procedure for most of the scholarships is online and can be completed by visiting the concerned portals. Similarly, for college level and other types of scholarships, eligible students have to apply by visiting the respective education portals.

Documents Required for scholarship in India

The first and foremost thing which every student should check before applying for a scholarship is the eligibility criteria. After that they must have relevant documents to prove the eligibility. The requirement of documents depends on the type of scholarship they wish to apply. For example a scholarship is only for BPL students, then applicants must have a BPL certificate/ ration card/ income certificate or any other supporting document as prescribed.
